About John

My “most” powerful intention is to be very happy and to be around fun loving, relaxed people. To share good vibrations and love with all creatures great and small, yep, that includes humans.

What I want most right now is to Play all over the world in my Rolling Stones Tribute Band

My Values

Being Happy, My Family, Being forthright, Being Honest, Being Me

My Story:

From the early 80′s and up until the late 90′s I played and taught Classical Guitar , mainly to children in 2 schools. During this time I was fortunate to gain the respect and friendship of many parents and students alike.

This was totally new direction for me as up to then I had always played in rock bands starting way back in the 60′s.

From my very first band up until now it’s always been exciting to sing and play to large crowds that are ” gettin’ into it mate !! “.

Not only did having a long break from rock music give me the chance to discover the beauty of classical music, it also made me realise that rock n’ roll really was inbedded in my soul and always would be my first love, musically speaking.

In 2006 I started forming the tribute band The Rolling Stones Experience and have also written some new songs which have been recorded by three different artists for their new CDs, and that’s also really exciting.

My home family pets and pleasures

I was born in the Netherlands and emigrated to Australia when I was 6. ( I brought my parents with me in case I couldn’t get a job :-) . We lived in two different country towns ( out in the sticks ) during my primary school years because my father was a builder.

When I started grade 7 we moved to the city of Adelaide. Up until my late teens I always considered Adelaide to be my home base as my family was there, but when I started travelling with bands I broadened my horizons and also felt at home in other cities like Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

I have also spent lean times, ( between bands ) working in Horticulture and on building sites working for my father.

The house that Julieanne (my wife), Jessica and I have on the Gold Coast has 99% lawn and I’m happy to have a break from all the work involved with my previous garden.

Anyhow there are other things that need some attention, like scuba diving, swimming, relaxing on the beach, playing music and going out bush when I get the opportunity.

My wife Julieanne and I met (wait for it !!) at a disco, and spent many nights dancing the night away on flashing dance floors just like the one in Saturday Night Fever.

Our favourite was The Old Lion which felt a bit like being in a matchbox with 100 other people and listening to Mick Jagger singing about Honky Tonk Women with the volume on 11.

We were married in 1985 ( we were both deaf by then anyway and had no idea what we were saying !! ). We both have a child from a previous marriage. Julieanne has a daughter, Heidi. Heidi is 27 now and is a chef, running her own Restaurant in the Clare Valley in South Australia.

Our youngest daughter is Jessica, she is 18 years old and lives here on the Gold Coast. Jessica played violin for 8 years ( from when she was just under 4 ) but is taking a break from playing and is now very interested in dancing and drama. ( I thought living in the same house as ME would be enough drama !! )

I have a feeling she still likes the violin and maybe she will start playing again one day.

We’re now living on the Gold Coast in Queensland. This is part of the eastern Coast of Australia and the south east coast of Queensland.

The seventy or so kilometers known as the Gold Coast is some of the most sought after property in Aust, maybe apart from Sydney Harbour. It’s all here !!, beautiful beaches, rain forests, incredible lightning and thunder storms, great diving spots, perfect for sailing and so on…..

My Vision:

I’ve just finished stocking up the fridges with enough food and drinks for the first ” long ” trip in our new 35 foot Riviera flybridge cruiser. A stunning boat with twin 430 hp diesels, leather upholstery, reverse cycle air con. and a swim / diving platform.Julieanne, Jessica, Heidi and Adam will be meeting me here at our mooring at Runaway Bay Marina at 4 pm and we’ll shove off on our cruise down to Sydney.

The friendly chef that we’ve got to know at our favourite Chiangmai Thai restaurant at Nobby Beach has made us a variety of beautiful dishes for our first family dinner tonight.

We’ll be dropping anchor somewhere around Byron Bay and sit out on deck to enjoy the food, drinks, soak up the atmosphere and catch up on what we’ve all been up to lately.

Later, Adam, Heidi and Jess are taking the dingy ashore to Byron Bay for a look around, while Julieanne and I are content to stay on our beautiful boat.

I’ve been hangin’ out to play the new John Price cedar top guitar that I picked up in Adelaide 2 days ago. Bach’s Prelude in E minor will sound brilliant.

Julieannes’ looking at a catalouge of dive sites around Sydney because we recently found out that our very first dive instructor ( Tracy ) and her husband are living there.

We’ve organised to go diving with them, partly because we love diving but also to show Tracy we no longer get tangled in each others gear and that we can navigate our way back to the dive boat without swimming into a jetty.

She’ll be looking for a place to sit down when Jules and I flash our Master Diver cards.
It’s amazing how our lives have changed over the last 2 years.
Since we moved to the Gold Coast nearly 4 years ago our lives are “great and gettin’ better”.

It really IS like living in Paradise.
Somebody pinch me, maybe I’m Dreamin’.
